Our annual production of The Nutcracker includes all of our Beginner through Level V Ballet students. Each class will perform in an ensemble piece and additional parts are available through audition. Auditions will be held at CAD on September 9. Rehearsals for those cast through the audition process will be held on Saturdays beginning mid September through show weekend December 15-17.
We are excited to also be the host studio for the Moscow Ballet for The Russian Nutcracker coming to Carrollton this year. While lead roles in this show will be performed by company dancers of Moscow Ballet, many roles are available to young dancers in the area. While at least one full year of ballet training is required, dancers do not have to be currently enrolled at CAD. This is a community based production and a fantastic opportunity for all dancers from studios throughout West GA. Rehearsals for those cast through the audition process will be scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and occasionally on Saturdays. Definite scheduling details will be available after casting as we will be looking closely at the best way to accommodate dancers throughout the West GA area and try to schedule those cast on one rehearsal day per week only. Auditions will be held at the UWG Townsend Center on October 2. Choreography will begin immediately following auditions on October 2 at the Townsend Center. Choreography will continue on October 3 at CAD. Rehearsals will begin the following week and continue through show day on November 21, and will be held at CAD.
