Pointe Shoe Fittings

All Pointe I students are highly encouraged to attend however, all dancers en pointe are welcome to attend. Mrs. Heather will be meeting dancers to aide in and approve pointe shoe fittings at DanceMax Dancewear at 11:00am. Following CAD tradition, dancers and parents are invited to join in on a group lunch at Marietta Pizza Company on the Marietta Square to celebrate those receiving their first pair of pointe shoes. Please email carrolltonad@gmail.com if you will have more than two people attending lunch or if you will not be attending lunch at all.

A few things to know prior to fitting:
1. Fitting pointe shoes is a process and different for all dancers. Some find the right shoe after just two or three pair, others may take quite a bit longer. It is important to address every little detail in fitting a dancer so please be patient if extra time is needed.
2. DANCERS: You MUST speak! Any discomfort, any weird rubbing, any feeling of being unsupportive, etc. must be conveyed to your fitter. They cannot provide their best service and the best shoe for you if they don't know what you're feeling.
3. Dancers will need to wear or bring tights with them to ensure correct fit.
4. If your dancer has pointe shoes from a previous fitting they will need to bring those with them
5. Mrs. Heather and the fitters will help the dancers talk through any unfamiliar feelings with shoes so they know what it should feel like.

6. Please remind dancers to have toenails trimmed to avoid additional discomfort or issues during the fitting.
7. You will be purchasing shoes, toe pads, ribbons, elastic, stitch kit, and for some dancers additional toe spacers/accessories.
8. Mrs. Heather will work with dancers and provide videos to help them learn how to sew their shoes.
